Our story
Fashion bd began in 2019 with three sarees, a borrowed table at a Dhanmondi fair and one idea: beautiful Bangladeshi cloth deserves to be worn every day, not saved in a trunk.
Who makes our clothes
Our sarees come straight from weaving families in Tangail, Rajshahi and Mirpur. A Katan saree takes two weavers five to seven days on a pit loom; a Rajshahi silk, up to two weeks. Our tailored pieces are cut and sewn by a team of eleven in our own Dhaka workshop.
How we make things
We design each collection with the weavers, not just for them: colours, borders and motifs are agreed at the loom. Every piece is washed, measured and inspected in our studio before it is photographed and packed. We use natural fibres wherever we can, and we pay for every order on delivery, never on consignment.
What we believe
Fewer, better clothes. Fair, on-time pay for makers. Honest descriptions, so what arrives is what you saw. And a real person on the phone when you need one.
